Techloop is an IEEE initiative which began with a simple objective: Students Teaching Students. Techloop provides an environment for students to learn from other students by the means of hands-on projects and interactive sessions. As the tagline, ‘stay in the loop’ suggests, Techloop truly keeps the students informed about all the happenings and developments in the technological industry. ITC presents three parallel techloop tracks: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Android Application Development. These will be followed by a mini-hackathon, to provide an opportunity to showcase and apply what the delegates have learnt.

CONGRESS

The IEEE Congress is a place for people to come together, collaborate and network. With informative and engaging technical sessions on some of the most promising areas of technology like Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain Technology, this is a place where future innovators and enthusiasts can grow, learn, and discuss their ideas. With some of the most knowledgeable and reputed speakers from all around the country present, ITC is bound to be the best place for delegates to gain experience from some of the best in their field.

IEEE VIT SB is a student chapter under IEEE international and falls under Region 10 Asia Pacific, IEEE VIT SB is endowed with a stellar team of students, with the right blend of members who aim to foster technological innovation as a student organization at VIT. IEEE VIT (under Madras section) is one of the most active student branches of IEEE R10. Incorporating both technical and management brains, it’s the perfect blend for development of skills in both the fields. It is the most distinguished chapter of the Institution and has organized large scale events like Make-a-Thon,SPAx, NASA Space Apss, among many others.

From emerging as Tamil Nadu subsection (under Bangalore section) in the year 1973 to being elevated as Madras section in the year 1978, this not so small part of IEEE R10 has grown exponentially in its following lifespan.
During these four decades, Madras section has accomplished a lot, some of the major highlights being the contribution of IEEE PES for 3 consecutive years, IEEE Madras Link, which is a newsletter for Madras section incorporating all the updates regarding events at student as well as professional level, and being the section with largest number of student branches along with largest number of students in a branch.

TRACKS FOR TECHLOOP

Internet Of Things

The Internet of Things (IoT), the latest buzz in the Silicon Valley, is the interconnection of uniquely identifiable embedded computing devices within the existing Internet infrastructure. IoT is an emerging domain that has huge applications in different arenas of the computer industry. IoT promotes a heightened level of awareness about our world, and a platform from which to monitor the reactions to the changing conditions that said awareness exposes us to.

Android App Development

App development means the core development of software particularly for the smart phones and other gadgets. The android is a powerful operating system and it supports large number of applications in Smartphones today. In the A+ track of techloop, the students will be taught how to develop and build different applications of Android, which is an important skill in the domain of app development today.

Machine Learning

Machine learning is the science of getting computers to act without being explicitly programmed. In the past decade, machine learning has given us self-driving cars, practical speech recognition, effective web search, and a vastly improved understanding of the human genome. With the constant evolution of the field, there has been a subsequent rise in the uses, demands, and importance of machine learning.
